Combing the Net – 10/28/2010

It’s a strange mix today of October 31-related posts. Something for everyone, whether it’s Halloween or Reformation Day to you!

Luther’s Stand — A dramatic recounting of the fascinating tale of Martin Luther’s heroic stand before the Diet of Worms, and of his ambush and capture which followed it. (HT: Challies)

Reforming the Protestant Church — Martin Luther sought to reform the Catholic church, not leave it. Are our Protestant churches now in similar need of reformation? (HT: Trevin Wax)

Luther In His Own Words — ChristianAudio is now offering a free download of an audiobook consisting of a reading of several of Martin Luther’s works, including the 95 theses nailed to the Wittenberg Church door on October 31, 1517.

Death Star Jack-o-Lantern — I’m not a fan of most Halloween traditions, but I do love a good jack-o-lantern. This is most definitely one of the most creative I’ve seen!

Evidently I’ve been carving pumpkins the hard way my whole life…
