Old Russia in Color — This is quite possibly the coolest photo collection I’ve ever seen. Take the time to read the opening paragraph about how the photographer managed to take such magnificent color photos between 1909-1912. Then watch the pictures closely. You can tell when something or someone was moving because you’ll see the different color filters. Amazing!

Costliest School in the Nation — With a price tag of $578M, it looks like this Los Angeles school is set to add to the heaping pile of evidence that throwing more money into public education is nothing but a waste of tax dollars. Sure, this might make kids more likely to want to come to school (I wouldn’t count on it), but do they plan on actually teaching them how to learn?

7 Reasons to Switch to the Dvorak Keyboard Layout — Is it time to put old QWERTY to rest?

Stars Wars in ASCII — Somebody had too much time on his hands… but this is awesome!

Journalism At Its Worst — Thankfully nothing here in America has gotten quite this bad yet.

We Are One — Yesterday was a great day at Coral Ridge Presbyterian (Tullian Tchividjian’s church) as they have finally managed to unite the entire congregation in worship. This is a refreshing counter to the trend of churches offering differently-styled worship services. Praise the Lord!

Here’s a rare clip of J.R.R. Tolkien singing one of the songs from LOTR, “Troll Sat Alone on His Seat of Stone”… I was relieved that it is in fact NOT to the tune of “Lump” by PUSA! (HT: James Grant)

Fast Food workers: Beware the 6:30 a.m. McNugget craving! (Don’t adjust your speakers, there’s no sound… you can use your imagination.)
