Temple Grandin — Thanks to Justin Taylor for bringing this film to my attention! I’m surprised I hadn’t heard of it before, but it looks great. Unfortunately, it’s expected availability on Netflix is “Long Wait”. Temple Grandin is an autistic educator and inventor, and a generally fascinating person. Even if you don’t have the time to watch the entire video at the bottom of JT’s post, at least watch the beginning for a great synopsis of what is meant by the term “spectrum disorder”. Many high-functioning people display at least some autistic tendencies… such as yours truly. “In fact, if you didn’t have a little bit of the autism genes, you probably wouldn’t have any musicians, artists, or scientists.”
