Lessons on Peace

Last Sunday morning, the SSBC college class (where I serve as a leader) was studying John 14:27, where Jesus says, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” We had a very interesting discussion about what true peace looks like, and how it differs from what the world offers.

Tonight I’ll be attending a lecture by Arun Ghandi entitled: “Lessons I Learned from Grandfather”, in which he will share teachings passed on to him by Mahatma Ghandi. Peace will be a central theme.

I’m curious to see the distinction between what he will say and what we pulled out of our Bible discussion on Sunday, as there are sure to be many differences. Look for something soon on this blog once I’ve had a chance to reflect.

If you happen to be in Cookeville and read this before 7:00 this evening, you’re welcome to attend this lecture with me. It will be held in Derryberry Hall at TTU, and admission is free.
