Nashville’s Coldest December in 68 Years — The last time it was this cold here? 1942. Brrr…

Redeeming Santa — Mark Driscoll’s article from the Washington Post about what he tells his kids about Santa.

Since Santa is so pervasive in our culture, it is nearly impossible to simply reject Santa as part of our annual cultural landscape. Still, as parents we don’t feel we can simply receive the entire story of Santa because there is a lot of myth built on top of a true story.

Did Jesus Ever Get a Stomach Bug? Russell Moore addresses an interesting question I’d never considered before. If sickness is part of the curse of the Fall, is it possible that Jesus got sick?

C.S. Lewis on Loving Aslan More Than Jesus — The author of the Narnia books didn’t think it possible, to the relief of worried mothers with kids who loved his books.

Dawn Treader Reviews — Speaking of Narnia… here are a couple reviews from guys I trust, who have different takes on the latest movie:

  • Doug Wilson— “This is not a movie that makes you disgusted and mad with idiots in Hollywood who unaccountably get people to give them millions of dollars. This is because this time they left most of the central things intact. I think it remains true that if the movies draw kids to the books, who otherwise would have had nothing to do with the books, so much the better. But it is probably best for Christian parents to not let their kids see the movie unless those kids are already steeped in the books.”
  • Trevin Wax— “I believe The Voyage of the Dawn Treader will be the last of the Narnia movies. It does not maintain enough of the original vision to captivate Narnia fans. Neither do the changes benefit the movie in a way that would attract new fans to the series. Ever since Prince Caspian, the franchise has been sinking. Dawn Treader, unfortunately, isn’t good enough to keep it afloat.”

This is one of the craziest goals I’ve seen in an NHL game. Mikko Koivu of the Wild drops his stick, then takes the stick of Bobby Ryan, one of the Ducks’ players. Ryan then picks up Koivu’s stick, and scores a goal with it!
