Returning to the Cosmos — In the 1980’s, the secular humanist Carl Sagan’s Cosmos series gained wide popularity, asking its viewers to contemplate the origins of the universe apart from any mention of a Creator God. I remember watching the videos in school. Now the series is being revived and updated, with 13 new episodes being produced to be aired on the Fox Network. One of the leading producers of the new series is Seth MacFarlane, creator of “Family Guy”. That should be interesting…

The Forgotten Presidents — Here’s a good bit of trivia: Who was the first president of the United States? If you said “George Washington”, you’d not necessarily be correct. Of course, the responsibilities and powers of the fifteen presidents who served before Washington’s election in 1789 had few similarities with the office of the presidency after the adoption of the U.S. Constitution.
