Fun With the Skyrim Theme Song

I’ve never once played Skyrim in my life, and don’t really intend to, but I will grant that it has pretty great music! Check out two videos from two very talented and unique musicians who have made names for themselves on YouTube.

The first is from Peter Hollins, who has made an a cappella recording of the Skyrim Theme by recording 114 individual tracks of himself and editing them together:

In the second, Hollens teams up with dancing violinist (of “Epic Violin Girl” fame) Lindsey Stirling to star in their own music video, for which she added several tracks of her violin playing to his vocal work:

If you like this, you may also enjoy Lindsey’s creative performances of music from The Legend of ZeldaThe Lord of the Rings, and this original composition.

I have really enjoyed experiencing the story-telling experience Skyrim has offered. If you are not familiar with it, you might check out this video too— It’s the same some, but more like the bards sing it in the taverns and inns around Skyrim.

I’ve heard nothing but good things about the game from those who’ve played it, I’m just not much of a gamer. Time spent gaming is time not spent playing music, reading, or writing, all of which I find much more fulfilling than video games. I’m glad you like it, though, and thanks for sharing the video!
